The Raoul Wallenberg Institute of Human Rights and Humanitarian Law (RWI) is an independent academic institution that combines multi-disciplinary human rights research with education, support and outreach to contribute to a wider understanding of, and respect for, human rights and international humanitarian law. About the position RWI’s Regional Europe/MENA Office is managed from Lund and currently focuses on initiatives and programme development in Ukraine, Armenia, Türkiye and the wider Europe region, covering the Eastern Partnership, Western Balkans as well as EU countries. The internship is based at our office in Lund, Sweden, on a part-time basis (up to 50 %) until the end of the year, start date as soon as possible.
At the end of the internship, the intern is required to submit a brief reflective report. A certificate will be issued upon successful completion.
The internship is unpaid, and we don’t have funds to cover any costs relating to it.
Main tasks Baseline and background research
- gathering and compile data, primarily through desk research and email but also possibly including telephone interviews
- recording the data/research
- drafting short summaries of findings
Support to activities
- assistance in preparation of materials for trainings, workshops, scoping missions, etc.
- compilation and analysis of post-training results (evaluations)
- other administrative tasks as assigned
Donor Research and Prospecting
- Under the direction of the DOO, and in consultation with the DSPC, conduct desk research on funding opportunities in Europe and MENA
- Produce memos and donor mapping materials
Qualifications and Eligibility Criteria
- You are a recent graduate or you are currently enrolled in any of the relevant master’s programmes at Lund University, or in other relevant academic programmes within commuting distance to Lund.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in an academic environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
